50W Fiber Delivered Direct Diode Lasers
Fiber-delivered direct diode lasers find their primary applications in laser soldering and plastic laser welding. Laser soldering offers a versatile solution for lead-free electronic soldering, providing precise control over position and temperature. It possesses several advantageous characteristics, including non-contact soldering, rapid heating, and a minimal heat-affected zone. These qualities make it particularly well-suited for lead-free processing, as it enables fast heating with minimal heat impact.
In the case of laser beam-transmission welding of plastics, this technique involves one component being transparent to the laser beam while the other component either absorbs the beam directly or has a coating at the interface that is absorptive to the beam. Pressure is applied to the two parts while the laser beam follows the joining line. This process allows for efficient welding of plastic components.
